Weekly Ethereum Research Report (2026-04-13 ~ 2026-04-17)

TL;DR

  • Bottom line: ACDC #177 (4/16) confirmed the plan to launch four devnets during the 4/24 Interop Week, and with Lido Day and the DVV announcement landing in the same week, both the Glamsterdam roadmap and Curated Operator decision-making moved to their next phase at once.
  • Numbers: Six calls were held this week; four devnets in the bal-devnet-4, epbs-devnet-2, and Glamsterdam-devnet-0/1 flow are planned for 4/24; and the IDVTC Snapshot passed at 57.7M vs 119 LDO.
  • Action: Operators should apply Geth v1.17.2 and Lighthouse v8.1.3 immediately, and track both the Glamsterdam-devnet-1 EL option decision at ACDE #235 (4/23) and the DVV migration choices around 4/30.

Top 3 Takeaways

  1. ACDC #177 (4/16) confirmed the simultaneous launch plan for four devnets during Interop Week on April 24, establishing a practical branch point for the Glamsterdam roadmap — the structure of a bal-devnet-4 and epbs-devnet-2 co-launch plus sequential Glamsterdam-devnet-0/1 releases was formalized, with Interop results feeding directly into the fork schedule.

    자세히 읽기

At ACDC #177, barnabasbusa confirmed a four-step plan: the 4/24 simultaneous launch of bal-devnet-4 (EIP-7928+7976+7981) and epbs-devnet-2 (based on alpha.5), plus Glamsterdam-devnet-0 (devnet-0 near the end of the first Interop day) and devnet-1 (conditional on stability on the final day). For Glamsterdam-devnet-1 CL additions, EIP-8045 (excluding slashed validators, low risk) was recommended, while EIP-8061+EIP-8080 (Churn rework + exit-via-queue) was not recommended due to the burden of tracking ePBS bugs in parallel. EL additions (Option B EIP-7997 vs Option C EIP-2780+EIP-7904+EIP-8038) will be finalized at ACDE #235 (4/23). OisinKyne (Obol) made the first official reintroduction of EIP-7716 Anti-correlation Penalties as a non-headliner CFI candidate for Hegota.

  2. Lido Day (4/15) disclosed CMv2 bonding, a three-layer institutional adoption structure for stVaults (WisdomTree·Copper·Fireblocks), and finalized 0x02 migration costs across nine sessions, while the IDVTC Snapshot vote passed overwhelmingly at 57.7M vs 119 LDO — and with the official DVV migration announcement (4/16) in the same week, Lido's DVT incentive model shifted structurally from "encouraging third-party middleware" to "Lido Earn integrated yield."

    자세히 읽기

CMv2 presents the shift from a reputation model to a collateral model via node operator bonding as the core of Phase 1, with validator consolidation taking more than four months. The 0x02 migration was quantified as ~738.5 ETH (~$2.215M) in unclaimed rewards, $1.8M~$2.8M (lower bound 1.8) in engineering costs per hard fork, 124,224 ETH in seeding, and at least 117 days due to the 298 ETH/epoch queue limit. The three-layer stack of WisdomTree EU (ETF/ETP) + Copper ClearLoop (institutional trading) + Fireblocks (custody infrastructure) completes the stETH "exposure→income" transition. DVV holders must choose before 4/30 among EarnETH migration, withdrawal, or retaining dvstETH, but NO-level DVT rewards remain under the Jan 2026 Snapshot, so there is no direct impact on Curated/CSM operator revenue. Nuxian Labs (PRO Delegators) strengthened its alignment posture by formally registering as a governance delegate (4/16) after its stVault application (3/20).

  3. A new Networking EIPs section in the EIP-7773 meta EIP plus the finalized EIP-8070 eth/72 title expanded Glamsterdam scope from four to five categories, while the Post-Quantum triple convergence (PQI #35 + PQTS #6 + PQ Key Registry ERC), a new EVMification EIP, and EIP-8188 State Tiering accelerated the long-term infrastructure track at the same time.

    자세히 읽기

As Barnabas Busa added a Networking EIPs section to EIP-7773 on 4/16, the process is underway for EIP-8070 (eth/72 Sparse Blobpool) to be included in official Glamsterdam scope. EIP-8141 entered spec stabilization with three consecutive days of commits from 4/14 to 4/16 (spec tighten → value field addition), while Frame TX privacy-use research (Three Gates to Privacy) was posted on ethresear.ch, moving use cases into an expansion phase. kevaundray (EF) added the EVMification EIP (precompile→EVM bytecode substitution) on 4/16, and EIP-8188 State Tiering by Write Age appeared as a proposal to supplement The Purge roadmap. The PQ Key Registry ERC (CRYSTALS-Kyber/Dilithium/SLH-DSA) and PQI #35·PQTS #6 (Testnet 0 daisugi.fy deployment) converged in the same week.

2. EIP Status Changes (Forkcast Monday 4/13 vs Friday 4/17)

Data Quality Warning

This week's Forkcast data is in a nine-day consecutive drift state. The complete absence of the Hegota category compared with the prior week continues, and as of Friday, only 15 valid stage-entry pairs remain versus the 4/9 baseline of 135, maintaining an 88% loss state. Actual inclusion should be judged based on ACDC #177 decisions, the EIP-7773 meta EIP, and Repricings #6 consensus.

Actual Forkcast Diff (4/13 → 4/17)

Change Type EIP Upgrade Description
Newly added EIP-5920 Fusaka, Glamsterdam PAY opcode — tracking restored
Lost EIP-6110 Pectra Supply validator deposits on chain — existing Pectra inclusion

  • PQI #035: No agenda registered

Cross-Call Insights

  1. 4/24 Interop Week = practical validation point for the Glamsterdam roadmap — the speed of resolving the five EIP-8037 blocking issues is the biggest variable for bal-devnet-4 quality
  2. EIP-7716 = direct impact from Lido's perspective — structure grants lower penalties to DVT operators/geographic distribution/multi-client operators → provides Curated operators with an economic advantage
  3. After the FCR spec merge, six CL implementations enter an acceleration phase — automatic reflection through the safe block tag delivers benefits to existing consumers such as exchanges without API changes
  4. Long-term PQ track in parallel — EL (transaction signatures) + CL (Interop) + key management (ERC) progressing on three axes at once
